Seo Ye Ji, once embroiled in multiple controversies, has launched a personal Instagram, marking her return to the public eye. On April 26th, Seo unveiled her new channel, which includes photos of her freely exploring streets and warmly interacting with her stylist in a casual ensemble of striped shirts and jeans.
The actress’s return is significant, considering her past enveloped in accusations ranging from manipulative behavior towards her then-boyfriend, actor Kim Jung Hyun, to school bullying and mistreatment of staff. In 2021, Seo was at the center of a major scandal when she allegedly influenced Kim to make him insist on fixing the scripts to limit his physical interactions with other actresses, alongside other demands that stirred the entertainment industry.
Her agency at the time, Gold Medalist, denied all the allegations, dismissing them as baseless. Despite denying all charges, the backlash led Seo to pause her activities. She briefly returned to acting with the drama Eve but couldn’t escape the chilly reception from the public and media.
After parting ways with Gold Medalist in November last year, Seo has been navigating her career independently. The launch of her personal channel is seen as a bold move, drawing mixed reactions online. People have shown a range of reactions, from “This is quite brave of her” and “Her face seems a little different” to “She looks more relaxed than before.”
