Seo In Guk and Ahn Jae Hyun are having a blast with the viral success of K.Will’s music video “No Sad Song For My Broken Heart.” The co-stars, who graced the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine’s August issue, revealed the video has surpassed 5 million views and the unexpected internet fame feels a bit like a second debut.
“We’re learning all about meme culture on YouTube and social media,” they said, laughing. “It’s been a lot of fun, almost like being in an idol sub-unit.”
To prepare for their passionate performances in the video, Ahn Jae Hyun delved into Wong Kar-wai films and Brokeback Mountain, while Seo In Guk admitted the intimate scenes were initially awkward. “Since we’re so close, filming that near-kiss scene was so awkward and hilarious at first,” he said. “But we got into it, and I even suggested ideas to the director for multiple takes.”
The behind-the-scenes stories continued. It turns out Ahn Jae Hyun’s idea to open his eyes during Seo In Guk’s kiss attempt made the final cut.
Fan theories are another source of amusement for the duo. Seo In Guk mentioned, “A lot of fans said it reminds them of ‘Lovely Runner,’” while Ahn Jae Hyun said, “One fan speculated that In Guk might meet me again in his afterlife like in the movie Bungee Jumping of Their Own.”
Regarding fans’ hopes for a third installment, Seo In Guk said, “I think a prequel would be fun, and it would be great to have it as a series.” Ahn Jae Hyun said, “It would be great to make a real movie out of it,” and joked, “Should we make it an NSFW movie?” Seo In Guk replied, “I’ll talk to a producer I know.”

Their friendship dates back 12 years to filming K.Will’s “Please Don’t…” music video. They bonded over drinks after filming, though the memories are a little hazy. “He drank so much he fell asleep in the bathroom!” Seo In Guk recalled. “It was adorable, and that’s how we got close.” Ahn Jae Hyun chuckled, “He told me I was sleeping hugging the toilet seat. I don’t remember that at all!”
A self-described introvert who avoids calls and notifications, Seo In Guk expressed his gratitude to Ahn Jae Hyun for maintaining their friendship. “He kept reaching out after we filmed that first MV,” Seo In Guk said. “He’s the one who kept the connection going. It almost feels like he’s been planning this reunion for the past 12 years!”
