It is another dynamic week on this week’s Soompi Music Chart!
aespa scores their second No. 1 song on our chart this year with their latest title track “Whiplash,” debuting all the way at the top. Congratulations to aespa!
The title track from aespa’s latest album of the same name, “Whiplash” is an EDM-based techno genre song characterized by its intense and fast-paced bass and house beat sounds.
Holding steady at No. 2 is SEVENTEEN’s “LOVE, MONEY, FAME.”
Four more songs newly entered the top 10 this week.
Moving up 27 spots to No. 3 is collaboration “APT.,” Rosé’s hit collaboration track with Bruno Mars revealed as a pre-release single from her upcoming solo album. “APT.” is a song inspired by the “apartment game,” which is a traditional game played in Korea.
Debuting at No. 4 is ILLIT’s “Cherish (My Love)” from their second mini album “I’LL LIKE YOU.” “Cherish (My Love)” is a dance pop genre song that conveys the meaning of cherishing their feelings of liking someone.
DAY6’s viral B-side track “HAPPY” from their album “Fourever,” released earlier this year, takes over to enter the chart at No. 6. “HAPPY” is an alternative rock song with warm vibes but sad lyrics about the simple wish to be happy.
Also making a 27 spot jump up to No. 9 is Roy Kim’s “If You Ask Me What Love Is.” Roy Kim expresses his thoughts about what love is in this self-written ballad.
