In a recent appearance on Jo Hyun Ah’s YouTube show “Thursday Night,” Rowoon opened up about his experiences and challenges with same-sex acting roles, particularly his special appearance alongside Ahn Hyo Seop.
During the episode, Jo Hyun Ah and Rowoon recounted their first meeting through a mutual friend, P.O, at a bowling alley, where an accidental loss led to an enduring friendship. Jo Hyun Ah recalled how impressed she was when Rowoon spent 30 minutes bowling alone after their game.
The conversation took a turn when Jo Hyun Ah mentioned that Rowoon would be well-suited for a same-sex drama role. Rowoon responded, “I made a special appearance as a couple with Ahn Hyo Seop in one of his projects.” When Jo inquired if the role involved kissing, Rowoon clarified, “We just held hands. It was so annoying,” visibly cringing at the memory. He added that he disliked the intense focus from people around him while delivering his lines.
Jo Hyun Ah further probed whether it was challenging to portray the loving gaze required in romantic acting, to which Rowoon sighed, “That’s why I hated being at the center of all focus.” He poured himself a shot of soju, quickly wrapping up the topic with a laugh, “It was meaningful to make a special appearance in a project that a friend was passionately involved in.”
Meanwhile, Jo Hyun Ah’s “Thursday Night” releases a new episode every Thursday at 7 PM KST on YouTube.
