BTS’ RM and Jimin continue to make a positive impact even while serving in the military and actively participating in charitable efforts.

Big Hit Music announced yesterday that RM donated 100 million won (approximately $75,000) to the Veterans Affairs Fund in honor of his birthday through the Everyone’s Veterans Dream initiative. This donation supports the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs’ Uniformed Workers Appreciation Campaign, aiming to honor and enhance the welfare of veterans and the families of those who have served.

RM commented on his donation, saying, “I witness the dedication of countless individuals to our country firsthand. I hope this small contribution helps all the heroes currently dedicating themselves to the nation and those who have worked tirelessly for peace.”

Jimin is also continuing his charitable efforts. In June, he donated 100 million won to provide scholarships for students in challenging circumstances in the Gyeongsangnam-do region. Since Jimin is currently serving in the military, his father, Park Hyun Soo, donated on his behalf.
J-Hope has discreetly supported an animal shelter in Busan through his mother, demonstrating his continued commitment to charitable causes.

All BTS members are recognized for their generosity, whether individually or as a group, with contributions totaling billions of won. According to UNICEF, as of April 2024, BTS had donated approximately 8.9 billion won (about $6.7 million) to the Korean Committee for UNICEF since 2017.
Furthermore, BTS donated $1 million to support global concert staff during the pandemic and has been positively influenced by contributing to organizations fighting racial discrimination.

All BTS members, except the eldest, Jin, are serving their mandatory military service. Jin, who was the first to complete his service, now focuses on personal projects and activities. Following Jin, J-Hope, Suga, RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook are expected to complete their service in succession, with a full group comeback anticipated in 2025 once all members have been discharged.
