The highly anticipated film Revolver is set to hit theaters on August 7th, and the first official posters and trailer have just been released, promising a gripping and intense experience.

Revolver tells the story of Soo Young, a former detective who voluntarily took the fall for various crimes and ends up in prison. Upon her release, she embarks on a relentless quest driven by a single purpose. Directed by Oh Seung Uk, known for his Cannes-acclaimed film The Shameless, and produced by Sanai Pictures, the production company behind hits like New World, Asura: The City of Madness, and Hunt, Revolver brings together a powerhouse cast and crew.

The first posters, released alongside the announcement of the summer release date, feature the intriguing tagline “Broken Promises, One Purpose.” The striking visuals show a hidden revolver behind Soo Young’s back and the intensity of Jeon Do Yeon, Ji Chang Wook, and Lim Ji Yeon.

Soo Young, played by Jeon Do Yeon, is a former detective who takes the fall for a web of corruption and lands in prison. Upon her release, she discovers that everyone involved in her case, including Andy who had promised her money, has abandoned her. Reduced to a shadow of her former self, Soo Young moves forward with unyielding determination toward the sole goal of claiming what was promised to her two years prior. As she navigates this treacherous path, she encounters Yoon Sun, played by Lim Ji Yeon, whose ambiguous role adds to the film’s tension—whether she is a helper or a watcher sent by others remains unclear.

The country’s beloved actress Jeon Do Yeon delivers a powerful performance as Soo Young, capturing the simmering rage of a disgraced ex-cop. Welcome to Samdal-ri star Ji Chang Wook takes on the role of Andy, the “mad dog with cologne,” showcasing a dramatic transformation. The Glory‘s villain Lim Ji Yeon plays the enigmatic Yoon Sun, delivering a nuanced performance that adds depth to her complex character.
