Reports emerged that the highly anticipated tvN medical drama Resident Playbook may not make it to the airwaves this year. This comes after the series was previously pushed to the latter half of the year due to the ongoing medical strike happening in Korea. However, the production team has clarified that “nothing is confirmed yet” and that they are still “adjusting the timing.”

Multiple outlets, including Herald Business, reported that Resident Playbook has been excluded from CJ ENM’s 2023 broadcast roster. Originally set to follow Queen of Tears on tvN’s lineup in May, the show was postponed to the second half of the year due to a medical strike involving resident doctors.

Despite earlier hopes for a resolution, the prolonged strike and growing public backlash have led to further uncertainty about the show’s premiere. On September 14th, the production team responded to the reports, stating, “It’s not finalized yet; the airing schedule is still being coordinated.”

Resident Playbook stars Go Youn Jung, who gained widespread acclaim for her role in Disney Plus’s Moving last year. The series, which centers on the lives and dedication of doctors and residents in a hospital setting, is a spin-off of the popular Hospital Playlist. However, its exact release date remains in question amidst the ongoing challenges.
