Upcoming comedy film “Fairy Tale, But Rated R” (literal translation) has teased Park Ji Hyun’s transformation!
With a star-studded cast led by Park Ji Hyun, Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, and Sung Dong Il, “Fairy Tale, But Rated R” follows Dan Bi, a woman who dreams of becoming a fairy tale writer but works as a public official tasked with regulating obscene materials. When circumstances force her to write R-rated web novels, she unexpectedly discovers a hidden talent for explicit storytelling.
Starring as Dan Bi, Park Ji Hyun shared, “I’ve never had the chance to do comedic acting before. Since my early 20s, I’ve been deeply in love with comedy, and this film came along when I felt a strong desire to explore it. I took on this film with the hope of showing audiences a new side of me.”
Dan Bi’s journey begins as a civil servant aiming for a stable career that would support her dreams of becoming a fairy tale writer. However, due to a simple misunderstanding, she is assigned to the Obscenity Regulation Department. Things escalate when she enters a 100-million-won (approximately $69,800) contract with CEO Hwang, a powerhouse in the adult web novel industry, forcing her to dive into writing R-rated web novels. Initially dismissive of the genre, Dan Bi soon discovers a surprising knack for crafting sultry narratives.
Park Ji Hyun’s daring performance as Dan Bi is expected to captivate viewers with her bold and confident charm. Adding to the film’s allure is her dynamic chemistry with Choi Siwon, who plays her senior Jung Seok, and her tension-filled mentor-mentee relationship with CEO Hwang (Sung Dong Il).
“Fairy Tale, But Rated R” is set to hit theaters on January 8, 2025.
