SBS has confirmed that Park Hyung Sik and Huh Joon Ho will be leading the upcoming thriller Treasure Island (literal translation), set to air in 2025.
On September 13th, the production team for Treasure Island announced that both actors have officially joined the cast. The drama, penned by Money Flower writer Lee Myung Hee and directed by Military Prosecutor Doberman helmer Jin Chang Gyu, tells the story of a man who hacks into a secret political slush fund worth 2 trillion KRW (approx. $1.5 billion USD) in order to survive, and the shadowy power broker who unknowingly kills the hacker, losing the entire fortune in the process.
Park Hyung Sik will play Seo Dong Ju, the Head of External Affairs in the Chairman’s Office at Daesan Group. Known as a man who “lives and dies for Daesan’s success,” Seo Dong Ju harbors a secret ambition—to one day take over the company entirely when the opportunity arises.
Huh Joon Ho will portray Yeom Jang Seon, a former National Intelligence Service director turned prestigious law professor at a graduate school. As the ultimate kingmaker who thrives on manipulating money and power, he finds joy in controlling the world like a marionette, believing his true existence depends on keeping everyone at his fingertips.
Treasure Island promises to deliver an intense story of power, greed, and deception, with Park Hyung Sik and Huh Joon Ho in the lead. The drama is slated to premiere on SBS in 2025.
