Ok Taecyeon is set to make his return to the big screen in the Japanese film Le Grand Maison Paris.

On June 18th, Ok Taecyeon’s agency, 51K, announced, “Ok Taecyeon will appear in the Japanese film ‘Le Grand Maison Paris.’ We ask for your interest and support,” raising anticipation for the film.

Le Grand Maison Paris is a film adaptation of the popular 2019 Japanese TBS drama Le Grand Maison Tokyo. The film brings back key cast members such as Takuya Kimura, Kyoka Suzuki, Ikki Sawamura, and Mitsuhiro Oikawa, who reunite to add a special touch to the project. The story follows the journey of genius chef Natsuki Obana (Takuya Kimura) and Rinko Hayami (Kyoka Suzuki) as they aim to become the first Asians to achieve a Michelin three-star rating for their restaurant in Paris, the heart of French cuisine.

In the film, Ok Taecyeon takes on the role of Rick Yuan, a charismatic Korean-Canadian pâtissier who constantly clashes with Natsuki Obana. Rick Yuan is portrayed as a highly skilled pâtissier with his own shop and a unique passion for desserts. Ok Taecyeon will showcase his acting prowess by delivering lines in Korean, Japanese, and French, adding depth to his performance.

Expressing his excitement for his first appearance in a Japanese film, Ok Taecyeon shared through 51K, “I was thrilled to work with the esteemed actor Takuya Kimura, whom I have long admired. It was an honor to be part of such a great project. Working with international staff in Japan and Paris was an inspiring experience. It gave me confidence that I can take on new challenges if I fully immerse myself in my character. Like the team in ‘Le Grand Maison Paris’ striving for a Michelin three-star rating, I hope the viewers find the courage to pursue their dreams.”

Le Grand Maison Paris will premiere in Japan this winter after post-production is completed.
