NewJeans, TXT, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT have been honored at this year’s Japan Record Awards!

On November 21, the 66th Japan Record Awards announced the winners for this year’s awards ceremony.

NewJeans has been awarded the Excellent Work Award for their Japanese debut single title track “Supernatural.” The girl group set a record by receiving the Excellent Work Award for the second consecutive year, following last year’s win with “Ditto.”

The Excellence Award selects 10 songs that have gained significant popularity among the public and are outstanding in terms of artistry, originality, and planning among the songs released that year. These 10 songs will also be nominated for the Grand Prize, which will be announced on December 30, the day the awards ceremony takes place.

The New Artist Award was given to ILLIT, who gained popularity with this year’s hit song “Magnetic.” This marks the first time in 13 years that a K-pop girl group has received this award since 2NE1 in 2011.

Additionally, TXT received a Special Award given to artists who made a significant impact that year, and LE SSERAFIM was honored with the Special International Music Award, which recognizes artists who have shown outstanding performance globally.

The Japan Record Awards, which began in 1959, is a music awards ceremony hosted by the Japan Composer’s Association and is broadcast live on TBS every year on December 30.

Congratulations to all the winners!
