Studio Dragon, the production company of the new drama Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo are in talks for, has responded to the reports of production costs.
On April 25, a media outlet reported that the production cost of writer Noh Hee Kyung’s new project is at least 3 billion won (approximately $2.2 million) per episode, and the total production cost for 20 to 24 episodes is nearly 80 billion won (approximately $58,2 million).
In response to the report, Studio Dragon stated, “[The drama] is still in the early stages of planning, so the production cost has not been decided. Casting and [the number of] episodes are all undecided.”
According to reports, Noh Hee Kyung’s new project is a modern historical drama that depicts the realistic scenes of people in the broadcasting industry. The drama will capture the passion of the people who passed through a turbulent historical tunnel and experienced the birth of South Korea’s entertainment industry.
Noh Hee Kyung previously penned “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Dear My Friends,” “Our Blues,” and more. She has also previously collaborated with Song Hye Kyo in the 2008 drama “Worlds Within” and the 2013 drama “That Winter, The Wind Blows.”
