Get ready for an exciting new drama starring Nam Joo Hyuk, Roh Yoon Seo, and Cho Seung Woo!
On December 12, Netflix shared photos from the script reading for the new drama “East Palace” (working title). “East Palace” follows the story of Gu Cheon (Nam Joo Hyuk), who can traverse through the world of ghosts and defeat them with his sword, Saeng Gang (Roh Yoon Seo), a court lady with the ability to hear ghosts, and the King (Cho Seung Woo), who enlists their help in unearthing the palace’s curse.
“East Palace” is written by Kwon So Ra and Seo Jae Won, the screenwriters behind “Bulgasal: Immortal Souls” and will be helmed by director Choi Jung Kyu of “The Devil Judge.”
Nam Joo Hyuk, who impressed in “Vigilante,” “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One,” “Start-Up,” “Radiant,” and more, will star as Gu Cheon, who infiltrates the palace to resolve a a strange incident that takes place in the royal family. In the process, he will face an unimaginably dark world.
Roh Yoon Seo, who captivated audiences with “Our Blues,” “Crash Course in Romance,” “Hear Me: Our Summer,” and more, will be transforming into court lady Saeng Gang who will use her ability—which she considered to be a curse her entire life—to unearth the secrets of the palace with Gu Cheon.
Cho Seung Woo, having charmed in “Divorce Attorney Shin,” “Sisyphus: The Myth,” “Stranger,” and more, will play the role of the King who secretly calls Gu Cheon and Saeng Gang to solve the mystery of the palace, raising anticipation for his portrayal of the complex sides of the King.
