MBC’s “Motel California” has shared a heart-fluttering preview of the upcoming drama!
Based on Shim Yoon Seo’s 2019 novel “Home, Bitter Home,” “Motel California” is a romance drama about a woman named Ji Gang Hui (Lee Se Young), who was born and raised in a rural motel called Motel California. After escaping her hometown, she returns home after 12 years and winds up reconnecting with her first love and childhood friend Cheon Yeon Su (Na In Woo).
The newly released stills capture a scene from 12 years ago, with Ji Gang Hui and Cheon Yeon Su spending the first night of their 20s together. The photos depict Gang Hui and Yeon Su together in a dark room. The clothes hung up on the wall as well as the cozy room decor hint they are in Gang Hui’s room in Motel California.
Yeon Su is on Gang Hui’s bed, and Gang Hui is sitting on his lap, their gazes creating heart-fluttering tension. Gang Hui grabs on to Yeon Su’s scarf, and she gradually leans in for a kiss. Nervous and lost as to what to do at first, Yeon Su eventually closes his eyes and focuses on the kiss, raising anticipation for their romance.
“Motel California” will premiere on January 10 at 9:50 p.m. KST and be available on Viki. Stay tuned!
