Moon Gabi has stepped forward to counter widespread speculation about her relationship with Jung Woo Sung, addressing rumors that she had demanded marriage after becoming pregnant with his child.
On December 28th, the model released a detailed statement addressing the media storm: “I chose silence for everyone’s sake, but I wasn’t protected. Eventually, I had to make a public post on my personal account to protect my child,” she wrote in a lengthy statement.
Moon Gabi expressed, “The stories about me and him have been completely distorted in articles filled with speculation, showing no consideration for me or the newborn child,” adding, “I maintained my silence despite the situation where everyone was gossiping and pointing fingers with articles full of insulting and cruel words that tainted my first meeting with my child—not because I acknowledged all these speculations, but simply to protect my child and his father.”
Moon specifically addressed the circulating narrative about alleged marriage demands: “As various speculations were added to the reported articles, stories like ‘Moon Gabi got pregnant after hooking up with a man she’s dared only a few times, and after her marriage demands for child support were rejected, she went ahead with the birth without consent’ emerged.”
However, she clarified that she’s never met with the father of the child since January 2024, stressing, “I have never demanded marriage or anything else from him because of the pregnancy.”
She went on, “I gave my best to our relationship, and when the child came to us like a precious gift within our natural and healthy relationship, it was a choice made by both parents. And while there were certainly moments when both of us were excited, laughed, and were happy about the child in my womb, I don’t think it’s right to conclude that this child is a mistake or will be unhappy growing up simply because the current relationship between the two of us takes a somewhat different form.”
The controversy began when Moon, who had stepped away from the entertainment industry, shared photos with her child on November 22nd. The shocking revelation came that Jung Woo Sung is the father of the child, triggering intense media speculation about their relationship.
