BLACKPINK’s Jennie Stuns at Met Gala, But Outfit Sparks Debate
BLACKPINK’s Jennie attended the 2024 Met Gala in New York City on May 6th, walking the red carpet in a daring and unique ensemble. This year’s Met Gala theme was “The Garden of Time”, and the event was attended by a star-studded lineup of celebrities, including Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Rita Ora, and Steven Yeun.
Jennie stole the show at the Met Gala in a stunning blue Alaïa gown. The dress hugged her curves and featured daring slits that revealed both her midriff and thighs. Completing the look, Jennie rocked a sleek high ponytail, dramatic eyeliner, and a peachy lip color. Fans loved her bold choice, praising it as “luxuriously elegant” and “bold yet maturely beautiful.”
However, not everyone was impressed with her Met Gala look. Some argued that the dress made her look older than her age, stating, “She looks at least 10 years older” and “Last year’s Met Gala outfit was so much prettier. This one looks a bit outdated and doesn’t accentuate Jennie’s strengths but rather her flaws.”
Stray Kids Face Rude Comments at Met Gala
Meanwhile, fellow K-pop artist Stray Kids faced disrespectful comments from paparazzi during their Met Gala debut. The group, invited by designer Tommy Hilfiger, was subjected to rude and disrespectful comments during their red carpet-appearance.

In a video clip uploaded by an onlooker, paparazzi can be heard making sarcastic remarks about Stray Kids, with one saying, “Never seen so many unemotional faces in my life,” and another commenting, “They’re like robots.” Other paparazzi even shouted, “Now let’s do it with feeling!”
The comments the paparazzi are making?? That's DISPERPECTFUL!

When Stray Kids strikes a pose for the cameras, the group of paparazzi expressed negative reactions. In another video taken right in front of Stray Kids, the crowd of paparazzi can be heard giving them directions, with one yelling “everyone jump,” before another says “how do you say right in Korean?”
These comments were widely condemned by fans and netizens, who called them “rude,” “racist,” and “disrespectful.” Many expressed disappointment that such a significant moment in Stray Kids’ career was marred by such negativity.
the fact that a huge (and seemingly respectable) event like the met gala still doesn't invest in hiring actual professional photographers and instead lets nasty racist paparazzi harass the guests is despicable and revolting. and no one around them said anything either https://t.co/6odrJE7cso
