On April 10, ELLE Korea’s YouTube channel gave fans a glimpse into the real-life chemistry between Kim Hye Yoon and Byeon Woo Seok, stars of the drama Lovely Runner. The video showcased the duo navigating their notable height difference—with Byeon Woo Seok standing tall at 189cm and Kim Hye Yoon at 160cm, making for a 29cm gap.
Addressing the challenges posed by their height disparity, Byeon Woo Seok humorously mentioned the necessity of apple boxes, while Kim Hye Yoon chimed in, “My neck hurts. I have the path made of apple boxes. I always have to wear heels,” followed by a lighthearted admission of occasionally being startled by his height, “Sometimes I’m startled, ‘Why the heck is he so tall?’”
One other question the stars got was if Kim Hye Yoon could carry Byeon Woo Seok like the Korean title—Carry Seon Jae and Run. Despite her initial exclamation, “I can’t believe I’m doing this,” Kim Hye Yoon was successful in her second attempt. Byeon Woo Seok’s caring inquiry of “Are you okay?” added a touch of sweetness to the moment. Byeon Woo Seok commented, “I felt Hye Yoon’s legs trembling, thought she couldn’t do it, but she actually carried me for 3 seconds.”
Meanwhile, Lovely Runner follows the story of a devoted fan, Lim Sol (Kim Hye Yoon), who, devastated by the death of her favorite artist Ryu Seon Jae (Byeon Woo Seok), travels back in time to 2008 to save him. With two episodes aired so far, the drama has begun to generate buzz for its heart-fluttering narrative.
