Starring Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon, Lovely Runner has gained worldwide popularity thanks to its unique story, exceptional cast and charismatic chemistry among the lead actors.
South Korean actress Jung Young-joo, who plays Im Sol’s (Kim Hye-yoon) mother in the tvN drama, gave an interview to Zum, as reported by SPOTV News and in In her latest interview, she discussed the ordeals the cast endured on the set of Lovely Runner, including harsh weather and brutal filming conditions.
Jung Young-joo said they used to shoot until 2 a.m. every day and return to work at 6 a.m. without getting enough sleep, adding that all the actors often had to go to the hospital to have IVs put in due to the schedule and intensive filming conditions.

Well known for Badland Hunters and Netflix’s The Fiery Priest, among others, Jung Young-joo shared an anecdote about filming the lake scenes for the hit drama Lovely Runner. These include a scene where Sol (Kim Hyeyoon) accidentally falls into a lake while trying to escape from her kidnapper at night and is saved by Ryu Sun-jae (Byeon Woo-seok) .
She complimented Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon for filming the lake scenes in the middle of winter and in unfavorable weather conditions.
« They filmed swimming scenes, went to a lake in the middle of winter and filmed in the rain. They really went through a lot. It’s not like I gave birth to them or raised them, so I don’t know why I’m so proud of them. I support them a lot” she therefore declared.
According to SPOTV News, she was asked if Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon actually dated during the filming of Lovely Runner and she claimed that because they were attentive to each other, a lot of people on the set concluded that they liked each other in real life. P
For Jung Young-joo, it’s hard to pretend otherwise when one person likes another, which is especially true in the case of Woo-seok who has a kind and caring personality. The two lead actors, however, were nothing more than good friends and the actress also said that she was still in touch with them even after the project ended.
Jung Young-joo then said, “ A lot of people ask me if they’re really dating and they say, “You guys were dating.” It would have been great if you had gone out with them. People around me keep asking me to ask them personally. “I jokingly tell them: ‘If you find out the truth, you will suffer“.
She then went on to say: “ I found that they liked each other a lot on set, you could see that they liked each other. It’s actually impossible to lie about how you feel about people, and that’s especially true for Wooseok, because he’s nice, but we felt like they cared about each other, whether it’s Sol-i or Hye-yoon.
