The series is inspired by four stories from a collection of interconnected short stories: “Jaehee,” “A Bite of Rockfish, Taste the Universe,” “Love in the Big City,” and “Late Rainy Season Vacation.”
Taking a cue from Hollywood’s approach of using different directors for each episode, Son Tae Gyum, Hur Jin Ho, Hong Ji Young, and Kim Se In each directed two of the eight episodes, bringing their unique styles to the table and creating a drama with a cinematic feel worthy of its name.
Love in the Big City became an instant sensation on Twitter right after its release. Fans, captivated by the storyline, shared comments like, “I was really looking forward to it… but it’s even better than I expected! What do I do now? Eight episodes aren’t enough; we need 80 episodes immediately!”, “My friends and I gathered at my parents’ house after work and watched up to episode 5 of Love in the Big City. This show is truly a gem… and the characters are spot-on for those who know what’s good”, “This drama just made me cry,” and “You have to watch Love in the Big City. Gyu Ho and Ko Young have perfect chemistry that feels like it’ll last forever.”
