Lee Yi Kyung, Jo Soo Min, iKON’s Junhoe, and Ji Yi Soo have talked about their upcoming drama “Marry YOU”!

“Marry YOU” is a romantic comedy about Jung Ha Na (Jo Soo Min), a civil servant who embarks on a mission to marry off Bong Chul Hee (Lee Yi Kyung), a bachelor from a remote island, despite being fiercely anti-marriage herself.

On why he chose to star in the drama, Lee Yi Kyung, who plays the mysterious island bachelor Bong Chul Hee, shared, “Chul Hee’s hometown is in Chungcheong Province, which is also where I’m from, so I found the idea of performing in my local dialect appealing.”

Lee Yi Kyung then described his character, saying, “Chul Hee is the most harmless and innocent young man. He is responsible and has a warm heart.” He added, “My first goal is to make viewers like Chul Hee. I think I can show both comedy and emotional depth through this character.”

Jo Soo Min, who plays civil servant Jung Ha Na, expressed her thoughts on “Marry YOU,” saying, “It’s not a sensational drama, but it is one that you can watch comfortably. When I read the script, I felt healed, and I think it will bring healing to the viewers as well.”

Regarding her character, Jo Soo Min explained, “Jung Ha Na is a proactive person who lives her life planning a future where she is content being single.” She also shared that her character’s bright and honest nature is similar to her own but added shyly, “Unlike Ha Na, I do not have a strong anti-marriage stance. I’m someone who wants to meet a good person, date for a long time, and eventually get married.”

Jo Soo Min teased, “Ha Na, who does not believe in marriage, meets Chul Hee, who views the world without prejudice. She begins to reconsider her stance on marriage. Please look forward to how Ha Na’s character changes.”

iKON’s Junhoe, who plays elite civil servant Choi Ki Jun, the leader of the marriage promotion team, spoke about his reason for choosing the drama, saying, “I thought this would be a work where I could reflect on the values of love and marriage, and think about both marriage and being single.” He described his character Choi Ki Jun as “someone who may appear perfect on the outside but carries an unseen loneliness within.”

Junhoe added, “In real life, I’m neither perfect nor someone who strives for perfection, so I do not share any similarities with the character at all.” He continued, “The way Ki Jun behaves with Ha Na, Chul Hee, and In Ah is completely different, so I focused on showing this through my acting.”

Ji Yi Soo, who plays the role of Oh In Ah, an executive at a large corporation, shared, “’Marry YOU’ is a healing drama with a comforting atmosphere. I believe that the drama will resonate with the viewers and provide both empathy and enjoyment.”

In addition to the script’s appeal, Ji Yi Soo’s excitement about working with the cast played a big role in her decision to star in the drama. She revealed, “When I heard that Lee Yi Kyung, Jo Soo Min, and Junhoe were cast, I thought there was no reason not to join the cast. I’m really looking forward to the synergy that will unfold between us.”

Lastly, Ji Yi Soo described her character Oh In Ah as “a person who is able to express her feelings honestly and openly when it comes to love,” adding that In Ah is a character who embodies both “coolness and cuteness.”

“Marry YOU” will premiere on November 16 at 7:50 p.m. KST.
