tvN’s upcoming weekend drama When the Stars Gossip is confirmed to premiere on January 4th, 2025, with Netflix handling international distribution.
When the Stars Gossip is set aboard a zero-gravity space station and follows the lives of Commander Eve and a mysterious guest named Gong Ryong as they navigate life beyond Earth. As South Korea’s first-ever space-station-based workplace drama, it has already garnered significant attention.
The show reunites acclaimed writer Seo Sook Hyang and director Park Shin Woo, who previously collaborated on the hit Jealousy Incarnate. The drama’s all-star cast includes Lee Min Ho, Gong Hyo Jin, Oh Jung Se, Han Ji Eun, Kim Joo Hun, Lee El, Lee Cho Hee, and Heo Nam Jun, heightening anticipation even further.
Lee Min Ho takes on the role of Gong Ryong, an OB-GYN doctor who spends a few days aboard the space station as a space tourist. Gong Ryong, a prospective son-in-law of South Korea’s powerful MZ Group, is hiding a secret mission.
Opposite him, Gong Hyo Jin plays Commander Eve Kim, a perfectionist and top-tier space scientist who embarks on her first mission to the space station as a commander. Eve strictly adheres to protocol, refusing to allow any mistakes as she navigates the dangers of outer space. The tension between her meticulous personality and Gong Ryong’s secretive agenda promises to be a key highlight.
With a stellar lineup and stunning visual effects designed to recreate the vastness of space, When the Stars Gossip is shaping up to be a must-watch. The drama premieres January 4th, 2025, on tvN, airing Saturdays and Sundays at 9:20 PM KST, and will also be available for global streaming on Netflix.
