Lee Kwang Soo, Hoang Ha, and Eum Moon Suk will be starring in a new film together!
Directed by Kim Sung Hoon of “Confidential Assignment,” “Dreams of You” (working title) is a romantic comedy about the actor Kang Jun Woo, who is known as the “Prince of Asia,” finding true love in the unfamiliar land of Vietnam. The film explores an unpredictable romance between a top Korean star and a pure-hearted Vietnamese woman.
Lee Kwang Soo, known for his massive fanbase across Asia, plays Kang Jun Woo, a star who dreams of making it to Cannes. In Vietnam for a commercial shoot, Kang Jun Woo finds himself alone and broke by chance and meets Tao (Hoang Ha), a Vietnamese woman who dreams of being a barista. This chance encounter introduces him to a new world far from his previous life. Following his standout performance in “No Way Out: The Roulette,” Lee Kwang Soo is set to deliver another dramatic transformation, portraying a cold, disconnected world star in this film.
Vietnamese actress Hoang Ha will star as Tao, embarking on a fateful romance with Lee Kwang Soo. This will be her first project aimed at Korean audiences, although she has been active in both film and television in Vietnam. Versatile actor Eum Moon Suk will also join the cast, adding a lively element to the romance.
Lee Kwang Soo said, “I aim to reveal a new side of myself in this project. Expect a charming romantic comedy that everyone can relate to, not just a fairytale romance.”
Director Kim Sung Hoon said, “I’m thrilled and excited to work with Lee Kwang Soo again after approximately a decade. Although this is a new type of project for me, I’m eager to collaborate with the talented Korean and Vietnamese staff and actors. I appreciate your support.”
“Dreams of You” has begun filming in both Vietnam and Korea. The film is set for a worldwide release, including Korea and Vietnam, in the first half of 2025.
