Lee Jung Jae, Jeon Hye Jin, and Jung Jae Young will all be making special appearances in the upcoming film “Revolver”!
“Revolver” is a new film about a former police officer named Ha Soo Young (Jeon Do Yeon) who goes to prison after taking the fall for a crime. Upon her release, she dedicates herself to a singular goal in life.
Jeon Hye Jin will appear in the film as the mysterious power broker Grace. The hewad of Eastern Promise and the older sister of Andy (Ji Chang Wook), Grace is in control of everything—except her troublesome brother. Despite her influence, Grace struggles to manage the trouble Andy constantly seems to be getting into. Positioned as a major obstacle between Andy and Soo Young, Grace tries to quickly and quietly get rid of the turmoil Soo Young has created from her top position in the power structure.
Director Oh Seung Wook praised Jeon Hye Jin’s portrayal of Grace and how she added tension to the story by capturing the character’s enigmatic presence. “I was so grateful for her ability to portray an ambiguous expression that made it unclear whether she was smiling or crying,” he said, “and I wanted to applaud her when I saw it.”
Lee Jung Jae will play the enigmatic Lim Seok Yong, who suddenly disappears together with his secrets. Seok Yong, who was Ha Soo Young’s lover but also responsible for the corruption case against her, frequently visits her while she is in prison. One day, he vanishes without a trace.
Lee Jung Jae will deliver a powerful performance as Seok Yong, a character who causes Soo Young significant frustration and pain while his whereabouts remain unknown. The actor will capture the complexity of Seok Yong, who is entangled in a major corruption scandal and burdened with truths he cannot reveal to Soo Young, through subtle expressions and an intense, piercing gaze. Director Oh Seung Wook praised his performance by saying, “He beautifully conveyed the character’s sense of loneliness.”
Jung Jae Young will play Min Ki Hyun, a police caption who was formerly a senior officer to Ha Soo Young and Lim Seok Yong. In the film, Min Ki Hyun gives a revolver to Ha Soo Young, who has made up her mind to embark on a long quest for justice.
Despite being weakened by illness, Min Ki Hyun’s charisma is vividly portrayed through Jung Jae Young’s performance. Director Oh Seung Wook remarked, “I am grateful for his skillful portrayal of a character ravaged and rusted by illness.”
“Revolver” is set to hit theaters on August 7.
