Lee Dong Gun opens up about his thoughts on dating again.
On the 21st episode of SBS’s My Little Old Boy, 90s superstar Gu Bon Seung meets Lee Dong Gun for a special rendezvous in Jeju Island.
During the episode, Lee Dong Gun showcases his relaxed life while vacationing in Jeju. Gu Bon Seung, who has lived in Jeju for nine years, visited the actor, bringing along some local specialties and demonstrating their close friendship.
Lee Dong Gun candidly expressed, “I thought you were committed to staying single.” To this, Gu Bon Seung replied, “Those who claim they’ll stay single often marry early. Guys like me just can’t get married,” adding, “I always want to get married.” When Lee Dong Gun asked, “Then why haven’t you married?” Gu Bon Seung humorously answered, “It’s not that I wouldn’t; I couldn’t.” He revealed that his last relationship was nearly 18 years ago, evoking sympathy.
Gu Bon Seung then asked Lee Dong Gun about his own romantic life. Lee Dong Gun admitted, “I haven’t been in a relationship for a long time. My child is still young and doesn’t fully grasp the situation between her mom and dad. If I were to start a new relationship, I feel it would be unfair to my child.”
Gu Bon Seung, slightly frustrated, remarked, “It’s quite pathetic for two single guys to be talking about women for hours. And look at us now.” Lee Dong Gun agreed, adding, “We’re seriously having this conversation in Jeju.”
