Kim Chaewon Dishes on Being LE SSERAFIM’s Group Leader
On March 11, Weverse posted an exclusive feature comprising of LE SSERAFIM’s loveable leader, Kim Chaewon.
Firstly, Chaewon offered her honest thoughts regarding her role as the group’s leader. The idol shared the pressure she felt during the selection. However, she shared how she built the courage of taking the role despite her hesitation.
Chaewon suggested that a healthy dose of pressure can sometimes be healthy for everyone. Furthermore, she shared that the role has made her more responsible.
The idol then shared the challenges and pressure she faced exactly with the role. This involves how she must always represent LE SSERAFIM, to which finds scary at times.
Nevertheless, the group has managed to come together, leading them to form a coordinated dynamic when speaking to the public. Chaewon revealed that LE SSERAFIM’s willingness to cooperate with each other lifted some of the pressure off her.

Chaewon remarked:
“I find it hard to believe that a year has passed since we debuted. When the label suggested the role to me, I had to develop courage to agree and be the leader. At the time, I had no idea why I hesitated or why I was worried.”
“Sometimes, the pressure does get to me. However, I do think that a healthy dose of pressure can be healthy for everyone. This role, it has made me for the responsible and mature.”
“You’re expected to uphold and represent the group as the leader. This can feel daunting to me. But with experience and time, our members really pulled through, and started to speak more, causing some of the pressure in me to be lifted.”
“With that harmony, it feels like we’ve moved forward together and come far.”
Chaewon Shares What Motivates Her to Move Forward
The “UNFORGIVEN” singer also shared what motivates her when things get rough.
Chaewon revealed that she’s motivated by the people who support her, and those who give her tough love. She also expressed her thoughts regarding self-growth and improvement.
The leader stated:
“When it comes to motivation, I have the people who care about me in mind. This also goes for people who offer me the hard truth. When I hear them voice out, it makes me want to do more, and push myself.”
“Of course, my pride can hurt when someone criticizes me. But I also think that this one of the ways I can grow. Ever since our debut, the people who gives me advice on what top improve on has gotten fewer.”
“I realized that I’m grateful for those who both recognize and criticize me. It helps me grow more, so I try to appreciate more of them.”
