Koo Kyo Hwan may be teaming up with Song Kang Ho in the drama version of “Inside Men”!
On December 26, it was reported that Koo Kyo Hwan has been cast as Ahn Sang Goo, a role originally played by Lee Byung Hun in the original film.
In response, Koo Kyo Hwan’s agency Namoo Actors shared, “The drama adaptation of ‘Inside Men’ is one of the projects he has received an offer for.”
Back in September, it was confirmed that “Inside Men,” the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time in Korea, will be made into a drama. Song Kang Ho was announced to take on the role of Lee Kang Hee, a character originally portrayed by Baek Yoon Shik in the film.
The series aims to expand the universe of the original film, delving into stories and events from the 1980s and 1990s. It will be helmed by director Mo Wan Il, who directed “The World of the Married,” “Misty,” as well as the Netflix series “The Frog.” The script will be written by Lee Ki Chul, known for “Escape from Mogadishu,” “Assassination,” and “The Thieves.”
Koo Kyo Hwan has reportedly been offered to play Ahn Sang Goo, a mob boss who handled the dirty work for powerful figures in politics and business. After being betrayed by editorial writer Lee Kang Hee, he loses his right hand and ends up working as a restroom attendant at a nightclub, all the while plotting his revenge.
The “Inside Men” series is currently in pre-production, with filming set to begin in 2025. Stay tuned!
