Kim Woo Bin has made headlines with his recent real estate investment, purchasing the former headquarters of BTS’s agency, Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE), for 13.7 billion KRW (approximately $10 million USD).

According to real estate industry reports, Kim Woo Bin finalized the purchase of a building located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on March 29th and completed the payment on April 11th. The building, which spans two basement levels and five above-ground floors, was sold for 13.7 billion KRW. With an estimated loan of around 6.2 billion KRW and the acquisition tax (4.6%), Kim Woo Bin paid around 8.3 billion KRW in cash.

Big Hit used the building as its office from 2007 until it expanded to a nearby building in 2011 and later to its current headquarters in Yongsan in 2020, at which point the company rebranded as HYBE.

Kim Jae Young, head of Building Road Real Estate, commented, “The building Kim Woo Bin purchased is located in a prime area frequently targeted by celebrities and entertainment companies. Considering the price of 13.7 billion KRW, it seems like a well-thought-out investment.” He added, “Given the current rental income and interest rates, it appears to be more of an investment for capital appreciation rather than rental income.”

In addition to this building, Kim Woo Bin also owns a single-family home in Seongbuk-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. He purchased this property in June 2008 for 1.52 billion KRW (approximately $1.1 million USD) and is known to reside there.
