Kim Tae Ri’s nemesis is about to catch her doing the forbidden in “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born”!
Based on a popular webtoon, “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” is a new tvN drama set in the 1950s, shortly after the Korean War. Kim Tae Ri stars as the titular Jeong Nyeon, a young vocal prodigy who dreams of becoming a top traditional theater actor.
Spoilers
On the previous episode of “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born,” Jeong Nyeon successfully pulled off the role of Bang Ja and proved that she was worthy of a spot in the Maeran troupe.
However, she soon found herself making the dangerous decision to break company rules. When her close friend Joo Ran (Woo Davi) injured her arm and wound up at risk of losing her part-time job at a coffee shop, Jeong Nyeon filled in for her at work. After learning that Jeong Nyeon was a member of the Maeran troupe, the coffee shop owner pressured her to perform at the establishment—and Jeong Nyeon ultimately caved, breaking the troupe leader’s strict rule not to sing for pay elsewhere.
In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming fourth episode, Jeong Nyeon is caught performing at the coffee shop by none other than her rival Yeong Seo (Shin Ye Eun). Yeong Seo, who came to the coffee shop with her older sister Yeong In (Min Kyung Ah), is shocked to see Jeong Nyeon passionately singing on stage to the cheers of the audience.
As performing or pursuing solo activities outside of the troupe is grounds for expulsion, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Jeong Nyeon, whose fate now appears to be in the hands of her arch nemesis.
To find out how Yeong Seo will react to learning Jeong Nyeon’s big secret, catch the next episode of “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” on October 20 at 9:20 p.m. KST!
