MBC’s upcoming drama “Motel California” has released the first stills featuring Kim Tae Hyeong’s character!
“Motel California” is a romance drama written by Lee Seo Yoon and directed by Jang Joon Ho and Kim Hyeong Min. It is based on Shim Yoon Seo’s 2019 novel “Home, Bitter Home” (literal title). The story follows Ji Kang Hee (Lee Se Young) who grows up in a rural motel called Motel California. After escaping her hometown, she returns 12 years later to reconnect with her first love and childhood friend Cheon Yeon Soo (Na In Woo) and face new challenges.
Kim Tae Hyeong plays Geum Seok Kyung, the sole heir to the Elite Hotel and the manager of an interior design company spearheading a motel remodeling project in the rural town of Hana. Seok Kyung is a proactive character who rebels against his family’s plans for an arranged marriage, runs away from home, and successfully launches a lodging app on his own.
Seok Kyung embarks on the motel remodeling project by casting interior designer Kang Hee and takes on the challenge of living in the countryside for the first time in his life. He finds himself attracted to Kang Hee both as a business partner and as a romantic interest.
In the image below, the sight of Geum Seok Kyung wearing a high-end suit and colorful sunglasses, which seem out of place in the rural setting, piques curiosity about whether he can adapt to rural life and what events might unfold there.
Another still below captures Seok Kyung’s warm and affectionate gaze toward Kang Hee, raising anticipation for the potential love triangle between Seok Kyung, Kang Hee, and Yeon Soo.
“Motel California” is set to premiere on January 10 at 9:50 p.m. KST. Stay tuned!
