It was on their official Instagram account that tvN revealed the latest teaser for the upcoming drama “Serendipity’s Embrace” starring Kim So-hyun and Chae Jong-hyeop on June 27, 2024, giving a glimpse of their blossoming love story . On this occasion, the South Korean national pay television network captioned the update as follows:

Helmed by director Song Hyun-wook and written by screenwriter Park Geu-ro, “Serendipity’s Embrace” is the upcoming must-watch South Korean romance and comedy TV series. While the series is adapted from the Naver webtoon of the same name, written by Nam Ji-eun, and drawn by illustrator Kim In-ho, the webtoon was released in 2011.

Serendipity’s Embrace, also known as Is It a Coincidence?, Is It fate? and Uyeonilkka will explore the reunion of first love. In this drama, we will discover the lives of young aspirants who embark on a journey to discover love and their dreams. They will meet their love from ten years ago and form a romantic bond.

Kim So-hyun will play Lee Hong-joo, a professional animation producer-director with a painful past that prevents her from engaging in a romantic relationship. Chae Jong-hyeop will play Kang Hoo-young. It was then that Lee Hong-joo decided to give love another chance after meeting Kang Hoo-young, with whom she shared important moments ten years ago.

The teaser for Serendipity’s Embrace begins with a scene at a high school, where Lee Hong-joo delivers a love letter to Kang Hoo-young before cutting to the duo sharing a bus ride where Kang Hoo-young stares at Lee Hong-joo d a loving look. Meanwhile, Kang Hoo-young expresses his love by saying the following words in the background:

« Lee Hong-joo. I don’t even know when it started. When you call me Kang Ho-young, my heart beats fast. »

In the footage, Lee Hong-joo is seen happily greeting Kang Hoo-young as well as his courage in handing him the love letter amidst the crowd in the school hallway. We also see the caring side of Kang Hoo-young, who quickly puts her hands down when Lee Hong-joo, exhausted from her studies, almost hits her head on the library table. The scene then continues to show the couple sharing happy moments in the pouring rain and in the car.

Then the following words appear on the screen: “ Can we start again ? », which suggests the beginning of a ten-year-old love which has dissipated over time. This then made it possible to understand the point of view of Lee Hong-joo, whose heart was racing when Kang Hoo-young placed his head on his shoulders.

The two young people also met randomly in the school library and later shared a date at an amusement park. The teaser ends with Lee Hong-joo lying on top of Kang Hoo-young on a beach amid the orange rays of the horizon, with the following words spoken by Kang Hoo-young in the background:

« What’s happening to you right now? It’s a happy coincidence. »

The eight-episode series Serendipity’s Embrace is scheduled to air between July 22, 2024 and August 13, 2024, on Mondays and Tuesdays at 20:40 p.m. KST.
