On the 21st, tvN announced the confirmed cast for Serendipity’s Embrace, along with the actors’ thoughts on their roles and the characters’ backgrounds.

Serendipity’s Embrace is a romantic drama that brings back memories of first love. Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, the story follows a boy and girl who first met at 19 and reunite as 29-year-olds. After an awkward and clumsy first love, they meet again a decade later and find themselves falling in love all over again.

Directed by Song Hyun Wook, known for The King’s Affection, The Beauty Inside, and Another Miss Oh, and written by newcomer Park Geu Ro, the series promises to deliver a heartwarming and intense first-love romance.

Kim So Hyun plays the role of Lee Hong Ju, an animation producer who became disillusioned with love after a high school heartbreak. Kim So Hyun expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m happy to showcase the lovable and fun character of Lee Hong Ju. Please look forward to a warm and lovely drama.”

Chae Jong Hyeop portrays Kang Hu Yeong, a financial planner with striking looks and a brilliant mind. Returning to Korea after ten years, he reunites with his first love and faces a tumult of emotions. Chae Jong Hyeop shared, “I was very happy and honored to play the deep character of Kang Hu Yeong.” Recently, he has been enjoying syndromic popularity in Japan, making his new role even more anticipated.

The cast also includes Yun Ji On as the free-spirited writer Bang Joon Ho, who wants to turn back time, and Kim Da Som as Kim Hye Ji, a sincere English teacher and Hong Ju’s best friend.
