SBS’s upcoming drama “Connection” has shared new stills featuring Kim Kyung Nam!
“Connection” is a new crime thriller starring Ji Sung as Jang Jae Kyung, an ace detective of the narcotics unit who becomes forcibly addicted to a drug. Jeon Mi Do stars as Oh Yoon Jin, an opinionated and outspoken reporter who works at a newspaper. The drama is a collaboration between director Lee Tae Gon and writer Lee Hyun, who previously worked together for JTBC’s “Diary of a Prosecutor.”
Kim Kyung Nam transforms into Won Jong Soo, the vice chairman of Geum Hyun Group, who has both money and power. Won Jong Soo is the leader of the “inner circle,” a group of friends who are on the opposite side of Jang Jae Kyung and Oh Yoon Jin who pursue the truth, and is the figure who reigns among them.
Won Jong Soo is a genius in trickery who learned the law of the jungle from an early age. He is obsessed with success and gaining recognition from his father due to his deep inferiority complex about having been born on the wrong side of the blanket.
When asked if he felt pressure to act as a leader among his friends in the drama when he is actually the youngest among the actors, Kim Kyung Nam replied, “When I talked to the director, I was told that it would feel natural if the character of Won Jong Soo, a second-generation chaebol, would actually look much younger and more sophisticated on the outside than his peers. So I tried to portray not only in appearance but also through acting an immature, selfish, and greedy adult child who is stuck in his teenager self rather than an adult-like and mature image.”
The production team remarked, “Kim Kyung Nam created tense scenes in ‘Connection’ by deeply immersing in his character. Please pay attention to the passionate acting of Kim Kyung Nam, who will be at the center of the conflict.”
“Connection” will premiere on May 24 at 10 p.m. KST.
