tvN’s upcoming drama “When the Stars Gossip” has unveiled more insights into members of the Earth-based team!
“When the Stars Gossip” will tell the unlikely love story of Commander Eve Kim (Gong Hyo Jin), who works at a zero-gravity space station, and Gong Ryong (Lee Min Ho), a tourist at the space station who has arrived with a secret mission.
The newly released stills shine a spotlight on the Earth team, a dedicated group responsible for supporting the astronauts aboard the space station and ensuring seamless communication. First, Kim Joo Hun stars as Park Dong Ah, a veteran astronaut who’s been to the space station three times. On the verge of transitioning to a private aerospace company, Park Dong Ah is known for his easygoing personality and infamous reputation as a charming playboy. His unpredictable love life, driven by his instinctive and carefree nature, adds a layer of intrigue to his character.
Lee El plays Kang Tae Hee, a globally renowned astronaut and the first Korean woman to become Deputy Director of the IOU (International Institute of Space United) Space Center. As the mission’s chief officer, her unyielding principles and rule-abiding leadership stand out, promising a powerful portrayal of a charismatic and capable leader.
Lee Cho Hee stars as Donna Lee, an outspoken space doctor stationed at the ground control center. As the twin sister of Mina Lee (also played by Lee Cho Hee), a plant scientist aboard the station, Donna mirrors her sister’s daily routine for experimental purposes—down to eating, sleeping, and even restroom breaks. However, unlike her sister, Donna is candid about her aspirations and doesn’t shy away from voicing her desires.
Lee Hyun Kyun stars as Han Si Won, a witty and charming Flight Operations Director at ground control. Responsible for orbital tracking and other operational technologies of the space station, Han Si Won is known for his bright and perceptive demeanor. Acting as the communication bridge between the astronauts conducting spacewalks and ground control, Han Si Won’s sharp wit and constant chatter promise to bring humor and charm to the story.
Park Ye Young plays Ma Eun Soo, the youngest member of the ground control team. Eun Soo partners with station scientists Eve Kim and Heo Nam Joon (Lee Sung Joon) and provides steadfast support for their experiments involving lab mice. Fully dedicated to her work—so much so that she rarely goes home—Eun Soo’s pursuit of groundbreaking discoveries alongside her team piques curiosity about her contributions.
“When the Stars Gossip” will premiere on January 4 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
