Kim Ji Won, currently beloved for her role in tvN’s Queen of Tears, has captured the hearts of fans not only through her acting but also her down-to-earth personality. In a recent Zoom interview with Cosmopolitan Korea, the star shared glimpses into her personal life and surprisingly humble daily routines.
During the interview, Kim Ji Won reflected on her current break from acting, “I’ve finished filming the drama and am now fully enjoying my time off at home. It’s a completely leisurely life.” She laughed as she described her mornings, “Actually, it’s not morning. I wake up at some point when the sun is up and enjoy the sunlight.”
Kim further shared her simple pleasures, “I start my day with a cup of coffee, pick out some music I like, and go for a walk. I’m just enjoying some peaceful healing time.”
Asked about her must-have items when she goes out, Kim presented items she’s even brought to the set, including a special handkerchief, “This is a handkerchief my sister made for me when I finished shooting my latest project. I don’t have a special bag I carry around; the only thing I carried around all year was a worn-out eco-bag.” She then showed her massage tool, wired earphones, and lip balm, revealing her minimalistic approach.
Even her commute is kept simple. Responding to a question about whether she still commutes alone, she said, “Yes, if it’s not too far, I just plug in my earphones and walk. Walking alone when it’s not too dark helps me sort out my thoughts and clears my mind of worries.”
On a related note, Kim Ji Won recently became the center of attention not just for her acting but for her astute investments in real estate. According to News1, in June 2021, Kim purchased a building located off Dosan-daero in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, for 6.3 billion KRW (approximately 4.8 million USD). The building was bought under the corporate name of Jiwon Entertainment, where she serves as an executive director.
