In the latest issue of Cosmopolitan Korea’s May edition, Kim Ji Won shines under the spring sunshine, donning an exquisite jewelry collection from Italian luxury fashion house Bulgari.

Following the cover shoot, Kim discussed the lasting values she treasures, akin to timeless jewelry. “As I grow older, I feel my values evolving from what they once were. This experience has taught me not to cling to certain principles rigidly but to keep learning new things every day,” she expressed. Delving into her role as Hong Hae In in Queen of Tears, Kim revealed, “Playing Hong Hae In taught me to be honest and brave in everything I do.”

Queen of Tears, boasting an impressive 20.7% national viewership, has become the second-most-watched tvN series. Reflecting on the essence of love, the theme of the drama, Kim shared a poignant line from her character, “Love, to me, isn’t about grand gestures but being there for each other no matter what,” and added, “I like that line. Whether in good times or when hitting rock bottom, being someone’s strength is what love is about, at least from what I see.”

From Hong Hae In to Descendants of the Sun‘s Yoon Myeong Ju and My Liberations Notes‘ Yeom Mi Jeong, Kim Ji Won has left a lasting impression each time, continually being praised over time. “Looking back, the characters I’ve played were always those I wanted to support, individuals with strong principles and impressive integrity. Like the viewers, I, too, have learned and felt so much through them,” she remarked.

When asked about the type of projects she aspires to work on, Kim noted, “I’m open to anything and will give my all in every project I do, but looking into the future, I’d love to leave behind a good thriller or mystery project. I really enjoyed shows like ‘La Casa de Papel’ and movies like ‘Coin Locker Girl,’” stirring excitement for her future endeavors.
