The Disney+ original series “Unmasked” has shared more insights on Kim Hye Soo’s interesting character!
“Unmasked” is an office comedy drama set against the backdrop of Korea’s first Investigative Journalism Bureau at a broadcasting company. The series is about a group of investigative reporters who use their cameras to expose bad people. The cast includes Kim Hye Soo, Jung Sung Il, and Joo Jong Hyuk.
Kim Hye Soo stars as Oh So Ryong, the eccentric and fearless team leader of the investigative program “Unmasked” (Korean title: “Trigger”) who stops at nothing to reveal the wrongdoings of the powerful, navigating the gritty field of investigative journalism with unmatched resourcefulness and a touch of madness.
The newly released stills highlight the dogged resolve of PD Oh So Ryong who relentlessly pursues unsolved major cases. Her unwavering intensity, even in the face of threats, perfectly encapsulates the essence of Oh So Ryong—a character who thrives under pressure and grows even fiercer in the face of powerful opponents.
One comedic still shows her sprawled on the ground with a nosebleed, teasing the quirky and unpredictable side of Oh So Ryong.
Director Yoo Seon Dong praised Kim Hye Soo’s embodiment of the role, saying, “It’s impossible to imagine Oh So Ryong being played by anyone else.” Kim Hye Soo shared, “Oh So Ryong is someone who yearns to believe in a world where justice and truth prevail, even in a rough and villainous world. While she may seem upright and principled, she’s also full of unexpected quirks.”
“Unmasked” will premiere on January 15, 2025.
