Kim Go Eun and Noh Sang Hyun’s anticipated film Love in the Big City is set to release on October 2nd, following its official selection for the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Love in the Big City tells the story of Jae Hee (Kim Go Eun), a free-spirited soul who knows no bounds, and Heung Soo (Noh Sang Hyun), a man adept at hiding his inherent secrets. Together, they navigate their unique approach to love. Directed by Lee Eon Hee, known for The Accidental Detective 2: In Action and Missing, the film has already generated significant buzz.
The film has been selected for the Special Presentations section at TIFF, a category that showcases new works by renowned directors and actors. This section has previously featured acclaimed films like Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite (2019) and Park Chan Wook’s The Handmaiden (2016).
Giovanna Fulvi, Senior Programmer and head of invitations at TIFF, praised the film, saying,” ‘Love in the Big City’ compellingly explores the journey of individuals discovering their identities in the stream of social norms. Director Lee Eon Hee’s delicate production, coupled with the performances of Kim Go Eun and Noh Sang Hyun, makes a fresh and emotional exploration of youth, identity, and love. We are thrilled to premiere ‘Love in the Big City’ at the Toronto International Film Festival.”
The film will have its world premiere on September 13th at TIFF, introducing its captivating narrative and dynamic characters to an international audience. It’ll then have its official release on October 2nd.
