Frankly Speaking (5/1)
JTBC’s Wednesday and Thursday dramas, which have been on hiatus since the end of Queen of Divorce, will return with a new drama titled Frankly Speaking which is a romantic comedy starring Go Kyung Pyo and Kang Han Na. As with Honest Candidate, the series tells the story of a person who finds himself unable to lie after an unexpected accident. Go Kyung Pyo’s role is that of a presenter incapable of lying, raising expectations for his one-man show since the release of the teaser. The series will be available on Netflix.

The Atypical Family (5/4)
Marked by the return of Jang Ki Yong to the small screen, The Atypical Family is a whimsical and romantic drama which tells the story of a man who meets the woman of his life after losing his supernatural abilities due to depression . Playing the role of Bok Gwi Joo, Jang Ki Yong plays a man who used to travel through time but lost his power. Her path then crosses with that of Do Da Hae, played by Chun Woo Hee, a woman from a family with a history of superpowers.

The Midnight Romance in Hagwon (5/7)
After years of playing the role of the best friend in love, Wi Ha Jun is finally in the spotlight. He will star alongside Jung Ryeo Won in The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, a cross-generational love story in which a veteran academy instructor meets a former student who returns ten years later as a rookie teacher. This is a passion project from director Ahn Pan Seok, known for his heartwarming melodramas such as Something in the Rain and One Spring Night.
This director’s previous successes have all eyes on Wi Ha Jun’s transformation into the leading man in this refreshing romance. The series will be available on Netflix.

Crash (5/13)
Directed by Park Jun Woo, the mastermind of the action-revenge series Taxi Driver, Crash features an elite team tasked with investigating traffic crimes such as insurance fraud, hit-and-runs and vigilante behavior. This time playing the role of a brilliant traffic inspector in Crash, which follows The Midnight Studio, Lee Min Ki is back in his detective skin. The series will be available on Disney Plus.

Dare to Love Me (5/13)
In Dare to Love Me, we discover a unique love story between a young heir and a jaded designer. While Kim Myung Soo, also known as L, plays the role of Shin Yoon Bok, a scholar of the MZ generation brimming with wisdom, Lee Yoo Young opposite him as Kim Hong Do, a woman exhausted by his current life. Uncle Samsik (5/15)
It was with the Disney Plus series Uncle Samsik that Song Kang Ho entered the world of television for the first time. In this historical drama, we discover the heartwarming story of Samsik, a man dedicated to providing three meals a day, even in times of war, and Kim San, an ambitious young man whose dream is to create a nation where all people can eat their fill and live a good life. Both go through a turbulent time striving to realize their shared vision. It’s becoming more and more common to see veteran Korean cinema actors like Choi Min Sik and Sol Kyung Gu enter the streaming platform scene.
The A-list actors and gripping plot make the anticipation skyrocket for the debut of Song Kang Ho’s highly anticipated series.

The 8 Show (5/17)
It is in the thriller series The 8 Show that Ryu Jun Yeol will make his comeback as an actor. The directorial debut of Han Jae Rim, known for his work on The Admiral: Roaring, the series revolves around eight strangers trapped in a mysterious location and forced to participate in a high-level game where time equals time. money, and where they fight to survive. Despite some comparisons to Squid Game, including being a deadly game played by locked-up individuals to earn money, viewers are eager to find out if The 8 Show can forge its own path and deliver a unique and captivating experience. .

Bitter Sweet Hell (5/24)
Kim Hee Seon brilliantly brings her comedic talent to the screen in the new dark comedy series entitled Bitter Sweet Hell. Her role is that of a renowned consultant who teams up with her equally quick-witted mother-in-law, who also happens to be a detective novelist, to uncover the identity of a mysterious blackmailer who threatens his career and his family. To boost the star power, DKZ’s Jaechan, fresh off his role in Semantic Error, makes his TV drama debut playing Kim Hee Sun’s son. Following last year’s MBC triumph with My Dearest, all eyes are on her to see if she can maintain her winning streak in Friday and Saturday dramas against SBS.
