JYP Entertainment (hereinafter JYP) is establishing a local subsidiary in Latin America!
On July 18, JYP announced that they plan to launch their subsidiary in the Latin American music market in the third quarter of 2024 to expand the regions for tours of affiliated artists and new businesses and to establish communication channels with local fans.
JYP also heralded the launch of their first main project and audition program LatinAmerica2Korea (L2K), stating, “We will introduce a Latin girl group based on the K-pop system.” In pursuit of this goal, JYP is forging a strategic partnership with Universal Music Latino, a Latin label under Universal Music Group.
Previously in 2023, JYP introduced the audition program America2Korea (A2K), a global girl group launching project, in collaboration with Republic Records, which is the No. 1 label in the United States under Universal Music Group. A2K held local auditions in five major cities in North America including Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Dallas, and LA, leading to the debut of the girl group VCHA. Building on this momentum, anticipation and interest are now focused on L2K to be unveiled in Central and South America.
