Jung So Min celebrated a major career milestone by taking home her first-ever Best Actress award at the 44th Golden Cinematography Awards on November 18th. Held at the Construction Building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, the awards are organized by the Korean Society of Cinematographers (KSC) to honor excellence in Korean cinema and highlight new talent.
Jung was recognized for her performance in Love Reset, directed by Nam Dae Jung, a romantic comedy about a couple—Noh Jung Yeol and Hong Na Ra—on the brink of divorce who unexpectedly lose their memories 30 days before their separation. In the film, Jung played the role of Hong Na Ra, starring opposite Kang Ha Neul.
Receiving her first Best Actress award after 15 years in the industry, Jung delivered an emotional acceptance speech. “Hello, I’m Jung So Min. I’m not sure if I deserve such a big award, but this is my first Best Actress honor, and it’s even more meaningful because it’s given by cinematographers,” she said. “When I’m on set, the warmth and passion coming from behind the camera always help me focus on my acting.”
She went on to express her gratitude to those who worked on the film, saying, “I’d like to especially thank Shin Tae Ho, the cinematographer for Love Reset. I’m also grateful to all the staff who were on set with us. I’ll continue to grow as an actress and strive to mature with each project. Thank you so much.”
