Jung Ryeo Won recently opened up about her steamy scenes with co-star Wi Ha Jun in the tvN drama The Midnight Romance in Hagwon in her wrap-up interview.

Reflecting on their working dynamic, Jung Ryeo Won said, “When we filmed the ending of episode 6, Wi Ha Jun was soaking wet and speaking so earnestly. His eyes were captivating. Early on, I couldn’t see that because I viewed him through the lens of a teacher, but his sincerity really hit me. I remember wondering why he hadn’t done more romance before.”

Discussing their intense kiss and bed scenes, she revealed, “While filming the kiss scene, the director told me Hye Jin (her character) is in a relationship for the first time. I wanted to lead since I’ve filmed more scenes like this than Ha Jun, but I couldn’t act too skilled. So, we both ended up being quite awkward.” She added, “We decided to embrace the awkwardness. There was a moment during the kiss scene where my hand slipped, and we burst into laughter. I thought it was a blooper, but the director kept it because it looked so genuine.”

Jung Ryeo Won also commented on the bed scene, saying, “We planned how to approach it and ended up finishing in one take. In other projects, it might have taken several takes, so I was curious about how it would turn out. It ended up being quite intense. The director is truly on another level.”

The Midnight Romance in Hagwon tells the story of star lecturer Seo Hye Jin (Jung Ryeo Won) and her daring student-turned-new lecturer Lee Joon Ho (Wi Ha Jun). The drama delves into the diverse and intricate lives of academy instructors, offering a fresh perspective on their world. The series concluded on the 30th of last month, achieving a peak viewership rating of 6.6%.
