Disney Plus has revealed two teaser posters and a trailer for its upcoming original series Light Shop, starring Ju Ji Hoon and Park Bo Young.
Light Shop tells the story of a peculiar shop that brightens up a dark alley and the strange, secretive customers who visit it. The series is based on the popular webtoon of the same name by Kangfull, which has garnered over 150 million views and widespread praise.
In the first teaser poster, Ju Ji Hoon takes center stage as Won Young, the enigmatic owner of the “Light Shop.” His intense presence raises curiosity about his interactions with the mysterious customers who come looking for answers. Meanwhile, Park Bo Young portrays Yeong Ji, a nurse in a critical care unit. Unlike Won Young, Yeong Ji is surrounded by a cold, blue hospital light as she faces the strange visitors with fear in her eyes. The cryptic tagline, “Every night, they seek the light,” only adds to the intrigue surrounding the series.
The highly anticipated trailer further sets the mood, introducing the dimly lit “Light Shop” as the only beacon in a pitch-black alley. The teaser highlights a mix of emotions—fear, sorrow, and desperation—as each character brings their own story to the “Light Shop.” The line from the trailer, “Maybe your will isn’t just yours alone,” builds anticipation for the complex stories that will unfold. Ju Ji Hoon’s closing line, “Wherever it is, it’s a world where people live, right?” leaves viewers eager for more.
The series marks the directorial debut of actor Kim Hee Won, known for his powerful performances in works such as Moving. Joining Ju Ji Hoon and Park Bo Young are Seolhyun, Um Tae Goo, Lee Jung Eun, Kim Min Ha and more, rounding out the star-studded cast of Light Shop. The show will feature eight episodes, with the first four releasing on December 4th, followed by two episodes per week over the next two weeks.
