The upcoming film “Firefighters” has unveiled new stills ahead of its premiere!
Directed by Kwak Kyung Taek, “Firefighters” captures the authenticity of real-life events by telling the story of firefighters who responded to the fire disaster in the Hongje neighborhood in March 2001. It will vividly depict the urgent situation faced by the team from the Western Fire Station, along with the sweat and tears of firefighters working under challenging conditions, all driven by a singular goal of extinguishing the fire and rescuing everyone.
In the newly released stills, the film’s firefighters wear fire-resistant gear amidst the intense heat of summer as they battle raging flames. The photos feature rookie firefighter Cheol Woong (Joo Won), rescue team leader In Ki (Yoo Jae Myung), and paramedic Seo Hee (Lee Yoo Young), along with firefighters Yong Tae (Kim Min Jae), Hyo Jong (Oh Dae Hwan), and Gi Cheol (Lee Jun Hyuk).
Some photos capture the team smiling brightly during training, while others reflect the urgent reality of their dangerous situation. One poignant image shows family member Do Soon (Jang Young Nam) anxiously awaiting the safe return of her loved one dispatched to the scene, powerfully conveying the emotional weight of the moment.
Director Kwak Kyung Taek remarked, “After hearing the heart-wrenching stories of the survivors, I wanted to the film to embody their emotions rather than focus on depicting specific events.”
“Firefighters” is set to hit theaters on December 4.
