Upcoming drama “Light Shop” has offered a sneak peek of Joo Ji Hoon’s character!
“Light Shop” follows the story of a unique lamp store that illuminates a dark alley and draws in mysterious guests with hidden secrets. The series is based on a webtoon by artist Kang Full. After writing the drama adaptation of his webtoon “Moving,” Kang Full also wrote the script for this project, which marks actor Kim Hee Won’s directorial debut.
Joo Ji Hoon plays Won Young, the owner of a 24/7 lighting store that never closes where he encounters enigmatic customers. Recently released character stills capture a tense moment as he meets a customer late at night, revealing how this typically calm character becomes uneasy in unexpected situations.
Wearing sunglasses and an expressionless face, Won Young radiates strong charisma. The scene outside the store with rain pouring down shows him beginning to falter in response to an unknown situation. Joo Ji Hoon effectively portrays the character’s various aspects, highlighting his talent.

Director Kim Hee Won explained that he chose Joo Ji Hoon for the role of Won Young to showcase a new side of the actor, providing insight into the casting process.
He added, “I thought Joo Ji Hoon would bring a refreshing quality to the character of Won Young, who is very static.” He noted that audiences will see a side of the actor they have never witnessed before in this role. The director also said, “I designed the entire character to capture their aura, including movements, expressions, and tone of voice,” emphasizing the effort put into developing the character.
Writer Kang Full remarked, “Joo Ji Hoon’s unique strength fits perfectly with Won Young, and I was very satisfied,” showcasing the production team’s excellent casting choices. With strong support from the production team and praise from the cast, anticipation is building for how Joo Ji Hoon will captivate audiences worldwide with his powerful performance in “Light Shop.”
“Light Shop” will premiere four episodes on December 4, followed by two episodes each week for the next two weeks.
