Jeon Do Yeon has nothing but praise for her co-star Ji Chang Wook’s acting abilities in the upcoming film Revolver.
At a press conference on the 9th, Jeon Do Yeon shared her thoughts on working with Ji Chang Wook. “While working on this film, I realized how little I knew about Ji Chang Wook. Honestly, I thought his good looks overshadowed his acting skills,” she said.
She continued, “Ji Chang Wook has always had a strong image of being so good-looking, so I was really surprised by his performance. After filming the first scene, I told the director, ‘I feel like I’ve seen a completely new side of him.’ Working with Chang Wook was a series of surprises. I drew a lot of energy from Ha Soo Young (Ji Chang Wook’s character).”
Revolver follows the story of Soo Young, a former police officer who, after taking all the blame for crimes and going to prison, is released and driven by a singular purpose. The film stars Jeon Do Yeon, Ji Chang Wook, and Lim Ji Yeon.
Ji Chang Wook explained why he took on the role, saying, “I found the character Andy to be new and exciting. He’s described as a ‘cologne-wearing mad dog,’ and I hope the audience will see him that way after watching the film.” He added, “I didn’t notice it much myself, but both the director and others on set found my performance refreshing, which I found interesting.”
Speaking about working with Jeon Do Yeon, Ji Chang Wook admitted, “I was very nervous. The scenes with her were crucial for my character, and I was both eager and anxious. Meeting her on set for the first time was thrilling and nerve-wracking for me.” He also expressed gratitude, saying, “She was very accepting of my playful nature, which made the shooting comfortable.”
Meanwhile, Revolver is set to hit theaters on August 7th.
