Jessi has issued a second apology amid ongoing controversy regarding her alleged inaction during an incident involving the assault of a fan.
On Wednesday, Jessi expressed her sincere apologies to the victim and their family, acknowledging the hardship they endured as a result of the controversy surrounding her alleged negligence during the assault.
She acknowledged that this incident arose from her actions, admitting that her inappropriate behavior and lack of response have caused pain to many, including the victim.
Jessi expressed deep regret, stating, “I wish I could turn back time. If only I had taken a photo with the victim or been more proactive in protecting them.” She explained that if she had gone directly to the police with the victim or offered a sincere apology, the victim might not have suffered so much. She emphasized, “All of this is my responsibility.”
Jessi expressed her desire to correct her mistakes: “I will make every effort to help the victim recover.” She concluded her message by once again asking for forgiveness, albeit belatedly, and admitting her wrongdoing.
The controversy began when Jessi allegedly ignored the assault of a fan by an acquaintance. On September 29th, the victim requested an autograph from Jessi in Apgujeong, Seoul, but was assaulted by one of her acquaintances. Reports indicate that Jessi left the scene without taking action.
On October 12, as the backlash grew, Jessi issued her first apology, explaining that she was caught off guard by the sudden situation and hadn’t fully considered her fans’ needs. She acknowledged feeling morally responsible for the harm her fan had experienced.

Here is Jessi’s full statement:
This is Jessi. First, I want to express my heartfelt apologies to the victim and his family affected by this incident. Despite it being an event caused by me, my wrong behavior and attitude, along with my lack of response from the moment the incident occurred until now, have caused harm to many, including the victim, leading to feelings of betrayal and anger.
I have regretted it countless times. I wish I could go back to that moment. If I had taken a photo with the victim, been more proactive in protecting them, gone directly to the police from that spot, or offered a proper apology, the victim would not have suffered to this extent. All of this is my responsibility.
I understand that I cannot be forgiven with just a few words. However, I will do my best to correct my mistakes and help the victim recover. Though it may be too late, I ask for forgiveness once again. I was wrong.
Sincerely, Jessi.
