Jeon Somi has officially launched her makeup brand, GLYF, on April 2nd, diving into the beauty industry with products she’s passionately developed herself. Amidst discussions about product pricing, GLYF kicked off with a 20% discount for its opening event.

“Being a beauty enthusiast and throughout my singing career, I’ve encapsulated all the beauty knowledge I’ve gained into GLYF. From product development and package design to the website layout, I’ve been intensely involved with Team GLYF since last year, ensuring nothing was overlooked in preparation. It’s all about fulfilling a beauty enthusiast’s dream with GLYF’s inception,” Jeon Somi shared, introducing her handcrafted lineup.

The brand’s first product to hit the shelves is a highlighter, with Jeon personally delivering it to friends for promotion.

Before the launch, there was controversy over the price of the highlighter, initially set at 43,000 KRW (35 USD), considered high compared to the average price range of 20,000 to 30,000 KRW (16 to 24 USD) for similar products. However, in response to the debate, the product was listed at 34,400 KRW (28 USD) after a 20% discount on the launch day, valid until the 5th, seemingly acknowledging the earlier price concerns as part of a launch promotion.

Jeon Somi, who debuted at 16, is known for embodying the young and rich lifestyle, driving a luxury car worth over 400 million KRW (320,000 USD) at just 21. Now 22, the singer and now entrepreneur is expanding her career into business, stirring anticipation for her success in navigating the pricing discussion and establishing herself as a successful businesswoman with GLYF.
