MBC “The Pork Cutlets” has shared a sneak peek of its cast’s chemistry!

“The Pork Cutlets” is a human comedy short drama that depicts the humorous story of Onghwa Village and its village chief Jung Ja Wang, who championed a neutering surgery for the village’s Casanova dog Baek Gu, only to end up getting a vasectomy himself overnight.

Jung Sang Hoon stars as village chief Jung Ja Wang while Jeon Hye Bin stars as Im Shin Ae, a happily married couple expecting twins in addition to their three sons. Lee Joong Ok portrays Jung Ja Wang’s childhood friend Deok Sam, who is eyeing the village chief position ambitiously. Thanks to Deok Sam’s knack for spreading rumors without hesitation, the village is never quiet.

Adding to the village dynamics are Dong Chul’s lively wife (Kim Mi Hwa) and Jeong Ja (Park Kyung Hye), who, despite being nearly 40, is the youngest in the village. Both characters bring a lively, chatty chemistry to the Village. It’s also intriguing to observe how city dwellers Mi Sook (Kim Soo Jin) and Hyun Chul (Lee Ji Hoon), newcomers from Seoul, are blending in with the villagers and becoming part of the village community.

Other stills highlight the endearing grandmother-grandson relationship between village elder Chun Shim (Kim Young Ok) and Bok Cheol (Jo Dan). Another photo features Chun Shim’s beloved dog Baek Gu, who also captures viewers’ hearts with his charming presence. However, Baek Gu has become a source of concern for the villagers, having fathered numerous puppies around the village. His ability to seemingly understand human language adds a unique twist, hinting at his standout performance and elevating anticipation for the drama.

The production team stated, “Featuring standout performances from seasoned actors and Baek Gu’s exceptional acting, the chemistry among the Onghwa villagers is flawlessly portrayed. The tight-knit bonds among Onghwa Village will evoke laughter, empathy, and a sense of healing to viewers.”

“The Pork Cutlets” will premiere on July 5 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
