Jay Park has made headlines as the first K-pop artist to create an account on the adult platform OnlyFans.
OnlyFans, often dubbed the “YouTube of adult content,” allows users to freely produce and upload explicit material, earning revenue through paid subscriptions.
As part of his album promotion, Jay Park posted provocative photos on his OnlyFans account, including topless shots with women’s underwear draped over his body and pictures seemingly showing him lowering his pants. On the 25th, Jay Park shared an article titled “Jay Park’s Bold Move, First K-Pop Star to Join OnlyFans” on his Instagram story, announcing his new venture.
Reactions online are mixed. Some see it as a “new endeavor” and believe “the promotional effect is positive,” while many others express shock and skepticism, asking, “What is the reason for going this far?” and questioning, “Would the reaction be the same if a female idol did this?” and “He has young fans too.”
There is growing concern about the accessibility of adult content to children and teenagers, especially with the rise of such material on YouTube and OTT platforms.
