Jang Shin Young is set to make her first TV appearance since her husband, Kang Kyung Joon, was embroiled in cheating allegations.
According to My Little Old Boy producers, Jang Shin Young will be joining the show as a special MC for the October 2nd recording. Her appearance, expected to air later in October, is gaining attention as it will be her first broadcast since her husband faced infidelity rumors.
With the show’s focus on marriage and family life, viewers are curious whether Jang will address the controversy surrounding Kang Kyung Joon.
Earlier this year, in January, Kang was accused of having an affair with a non-celebrity woman, referred to as A, which led to a 50 million KRW (approx. 37,000 USD) lawsuit filed by A’s husband, B. The case was initially sent to mediation by the Seoul Central District Court, but when B refused to reach a settlement, it was moved to the Seoul Family Court in April. During the first hearing on July 24th, Kang Kyung Joon’s lawyer announced that they would settle the case by agreeing to B’s demands.
After settling the case, Kang Kyung Joon released a statement through his legal team: “The media reports included only parts of the statements made by the parties involved in the lawsuit, and not all the facts were accurately represented. While there are inaccuracies and aspects that require clarification, I believe that the misunderstandings and criticisms were a result of my own shortcomings. I decided that accepting these consequences was my responsibility.”
On August 19th, Jang Shin Young took to Instagram to address the situation, writing, “I’ve had many conversations with my husband. We’ve both reflected and taken responsibility. The pain we went through was indescribable, but we decided to stay together as a family, especially for the sake of our children. I ask that people refrain from excessive criticism toward my husband, as I fear it may reach our children.”
